Handmade Leather Dragon Scale Panels for DIY Projects

You don't have to make every scale yourself.

My Leather Dragon Scale Panels give you a ready-to-use foundation of soft, dimensional, hand-formed leather dragon scales, machine sewn onto a matching lambskin leather backing.

These aren't tooled or stamped leather scales. Each individual scale is hand cut, hand punched, molded and formed to create a soft, sculpted, three-dimensional surface with movement and texture.

Where the Dragon Scales Began...

My Dragon Scales didn't begin as a product. They began with a commission.

A Hollywood writer commissioned me to create two custom dice bags for her sons, who were fans of Dungeons & Dragons and Game of Thrones. While developing those pieces, I created the dimensional leather scale technique that would eventually become my signature Dragon Scales.

From there, the scales evolved through a variety of custom creations, including a Dragon Scale bracer, guitar straps and other leather art, as well as a Dragon Scale pillow I created for the Etsy Design Awards.

My Dragon Scales eventually made their television debut on The CW's Legacies in Episode 8, "Long Time No See," and appeared in several episodes afterward. Costume Designer Ann Walters was the mastermind behind the costume.
