A Custom Leather Cuff — Ten Years Later

Some pieces become part of a person's story.
Around 2016, I designed and handcrafted a custom leather cuff for Jonathon. What began as a custom commission became an opportunity to get to know the person behind the project, something I have always valued about creating work for individual clients.
Ten years later, Jonathon reached out with a new photograph of his Busajja Leather Cuff still on his wrist. He shared that he has worn it through the years, including while fishing and getting it wet, and that it remains his favorite leather piece.
Messages like his mean a great deal to me. As a leather artist, I put thought, care, and countless hours into the things I create. But once a piece leaves my studio, it begins its own journey with the person who wears it.
To see a custom design still being worn and appreciated a decade later is a wonderful reminder of why I do what I do.
