The Piece...

An 8-strand hand-braided collar of kangaroo leather forms a continuous, sculptural line—strong, refined, and deeply tactile. The braid moves with precision, wrapping and securing each element in place rather than simply holding it.

Woven into the structure are five natural stone beads—three prominent, two subtle—each one braided directly into the form.

Not added.
But built into the path.

These stones, known as African Turquoise, are associated with growth, transformation, and forward movement—a quiet alignment with the spirit of the piece.

At the back, a sculptural leather toggle completes the design.

A moment where the piece comes together—and holds.

Every Ashiro toggle is individually handcrafted using layered leather that is cut, shaped, dyed, burnished and finished entirely by hand. The organic nature of this process means no two closures will ever be identical—each becomes a one-of-a-kind sculptural element within the finished piece.

Sizing...

Each Ashiro necklace is handcrafted to your desired finished length.

Rather than measuring your neck, I recommend measuring where you would like the necklace to rest. This simple method gives the most accurate result.

To Measure:

• Place a small loop of painter's tape on your neck where you'd like the center of the necklace to sit.
• Wrap a piece of string or twine around your neck, resting it on the tape.
• Mark where the string overlaps, then cut at the mark.
• Lay the string flat and measure it with a ruler or tape measure.
• The measurement you obtain will become the finished length of your Ashiro necklace - from the base of the leather toggle to the inside of the braided loop.
